Neues Echtra Album kommt:
Echtra – „Sky Burial“: the first issuance in the triumvirate of the Passage Cycle, is an exploration of the dissolution of our mortal coil. If human consciousness recognizes the inescapability of its own demise, then an essential aspect of becoming truly human is grappling with the inevitability of our own death. This is what Echtra has sought with the “Sky Burial” project, attempting at the same time to create an aural and visual space in which others may do the same.Influenced by the Vajrayana’s cosmological views on the passaging of consciousness between lifetimes, and utilizing the sonic palette of acoustic and electric guitars, keyboards, drums, and vocals, this project is undoubtedly Echtra’s most fully realized manifestation thus far. Aesthetic echoes of doom and black, acoustic arpeggios driving spirit into form, sparse vocalizations uttering the manifesto of an unqualified acceptance of eventual transformation: these are some of the tools employed in service of the soul’s embrace of a body consumed by the winged ones.
For the first time, audial documentation has been augmented by video, depicting the one and only performance of “Sky Burial,” offered on December 19th, 2008, as the final offering of the first night of the Spire: A Twilight Language Yule gathering in Olympia, Washington, USA. Echtra was joined for this performance by Lina McLean, Johnny Delacy, and Steve Joyner/CoRE. The video footage from this live performance has been licensed for this release from Adam Torruella.
Written and recorded in the long ago of Litha MMVII, and mastered by Mell Dettmer near Lughnasadh
MMXII, it is now issued by ToT for the benefit of all beings.This gem will be presented as a CD/DVD album housed in a well-crafted digifile, with silver print, debossing on textured black carton, in combination with a 2-sided postcard as well!
Auf die Musik bin ich sehr gespannt, aber das Cover ist ein schlechter Witz. Langweiliges, nichtssagendes Motiv und eine grottenschlechte Umsetzung…

Eine großartige Band hier aus Deutschland aus dem Dark Germanic Heathenism Genre. Zuletzt auf dem Arosian Black Mass Festival 2012 in Schweden aufgetreten. Man sollte sowohl auf dieses genannte als auch das Nidrosian Black Mass Festival in Belgien immer mal ein Auge werfen, vor allem für diejenigen etwas, die wirklich noch Interesse an authentischen Black Metal Shows haben.Weiss jemand wo man das Ildjarn-debut bekommt? Wuurde das irgendwie rereleased? Selbes gilt für das Martyrium-Album….
Von Countess brauch ich auch dringend mal was…
Wenn ich mich nicht vollkommen täusche wird die gesamte Ildjarn Diskografie ab diesem Jahr Stück für Stück neu aufgelegt (via Osmose Prod.)…

Ich meineseits finde [COLOR=#ff0000]Black Metal[/COLOR] ziemlich krass und düster , langweilt aber meinermeinug auf dauer. Die erste von Behemooth ist zu empfehlen.

Hatte mal die COUNTESS auf NAZGULS EYRIE Productions von 1993 oder 1994 glaube ich. muss mal gucken.
Auf jeden Fall hab ich noch die DAWNFALL CD ebenfalls auf dem gleichen Label von 1993. Eine der ersten deutschen Black Metal Bands.
Musikalisch nach heutigen Gesichtspunkt eine totale Katastrophe. Damals ein Highlight für mich.

edit: vor ein paar monaten hatte mal jemand nach „fröhlich“ klingendem BM gefragt, da ist mit noch Noenum eingefallen.

auf jeden fall. ich hab hier tapes liegen, das kann man sich eigentlich gar nicht anhören. zb BURZUM proberaumaufnahmen, da musste die anlage kpl aufdrehen um annähernd was zu verstehen. früher bin ich dazu wild fappend durch die bude gerannt.
oder beispiel BESTIAL SUMMONING. ich liebe die band, aber ich glaube kaum, dass sich heutzutage noch jemand den sound gibt.
Andere Bespiele sind BEHEMOTH aus Schweden oder AZUBHAM HAANI. sowas würde heutzutage kaum noch jemand feiern. ich liebe den sound immer noch.
Ist doch geil! So Zeug hör ich heute noch lieber wie vieles Neue!

Und wo ich richtig abgegangen bin, das war bei Dark Funeral, ich hab die ganze Zeit die Songs mitgeschrieen, weil ich kannte wirklich JEDEN Song, und wenn ich mal ne Textpassage nicht gewusst hab, hab ich gebangt. Und dann gings los. Zwo mal hab ichn Brechreiz bekommen vom ganzen Schreien, weil mir die ganze Galle rauskam schon, ich stand dann da, uah geil ey das Feuer bam! und ich war halt - das klingt halt hart - aber ich war kurz davor mir einen zu schrubben, so geil war das.

Dawnfall find ich aber doch eher unspektakulär. Dafür Countess super. Zumindest einiges. Haben ja viel rausgebracht und die Qualität ist manchmal etwas mäßiger…

Ich hab beim hören mitgeschunkelt. Ich finde es klingt wie fröhliche Punk-Musik. Das ist mir schon bei mehreren finnischen Bands aufgefallen. Wie gesagt, das Finnische hört man raus. Nur der Gesang passt da nicht richtig rein.
