Luca Turilli’s RHAPSODY are proud to reveal the first news about their new album, scheduled to be recorded and mixed once again in the Backyard Studios of Sebastian Roeder (Kempten, Germany) and released by Nuclear Blast in 2014.

Hört sich etwas epischer an als das Ascending Zeug, das ein ziemlich starkes Intro hatte.

das letzte Album ist meiner Meinung nach voll mit Potential, nur hat es bei mir noch nicht so ganz gezündet, aber wer weiß. Wenn das neue Material die epischen Parts (Intro usw.) des Ascending… Albums aufnimmt und diese Art von „cinematischer“ Musik aufs ganze Album überträgt, wirds vielleicht ein spannendes Werk!!! Das Potenzial ist da, bloß hab ich beim Turilli manchmal das Gefühl, dass er zu viel macht und (wie Doro) zu wenig aussortiert; hauptsache ein neues Album ist da!

Du vergleichst grad‘ nicht ernsthaft Luca Turilli mit Doro, oder? Diese „Art von cinematischer Musik“ hatte er doch schon auf dem Debüt vollständig übertragen, weiß gar nicht, was du willst? Noch mehr Bombast? Dann wird’s langweilig. Schon mal ’n Filmsoundtrack genossen, der ständig nur rumbombastet, und ruhigeren Momenten keinen Platz einräumt? Ist doch scheiße. Nene, das passt schon so, man muss halt wissen, wie man die genannten Attribute zu deuten hat.

Doch, doch: Doro und Luca sind eine der Künstler, die andauernd Material (und das ist ja soweit nichts negatives) auf den Markt hauen und dabei schleicht sich halt der ein oder andere Lückenfüller ein. Wenn ich Luca Turilli mit cinematischen Elementen hören will, lege ich mir die Prophet of the last eclpise ein: die ist DURCHGEHEND bombastisch, eingängig und wird trotzdem NIE langweilig. Und das ist eigentlich mein Hauptkritikpunkt: die Eingängigkeit. Aber wie gesagt, vielleicht bin ich von Ascending… auch mal noch so überzeugt wie du…

Was heißt überzeugt. Es ist halt ausgereifter als der vorherige Turilli-Kram.

Sänger Alessandro Conti enthüllt: “Dieses Album war eine große Herausforderung und trieb mich an meine Grenzen. Ich bin sicher, dass die Fans ganz verrückt nach diesem neuen RHAPSODY Album sein werden, da es viele Überraschungen und Songs mit echtem Hitpotential enthält. Ich hatte die Chance mit einigen meiner absoluten Lieblingssänger zusammenzuarbeiten und das war eine sehr befriedigende Erfahrung.“

Seitdem mich Rhapsody mehr an eine billige RTL II Seifenoper denn eine Band erinnern, kann ich mir das einfach nicht mehr anhören.

Mein derzeitiger Favorit. Der Song half mir vor knapp 1 Jahr den Tod meiner Oma zu verarbeiten.
Ach so, ja! Rhapsody of Fire kenne ich schon geraume Zeit. Einfach gewaltig diese Musik.

It was recorded and mixed at the Backyard Studios of Sebastian Roeder (Bonfire a.o.)and mastered by Christoph Stickel (Michael Schenker’s TEMPLE OF ROCK a.o.) at MSM studios.
Seven months of composition, three months of production, over 50 days of mix, two choirs, several special guests, including Ralf Scheepers (PRIMAL FEAR), Dan Lucas (KARO) and David Readman (PINK CREAM 69). Including 70 minutes of epic music, sounding cinematic, bombastic and dramatic as never before, the newRHAPSODY masterwork will lead the listener to an emotional and memorable journey between quantum gates, parallel dimensions, myths and legends hiding cosmic truths, ancestral secrets and spiritual revelations.
And this time it was not enough for the band to simply sound CINEMATIC. It came the time for RHAPSODY to finally “look” CINEMATIC too. Therefore, the new cover artwork and the album booklet, introducing the new cinematic graphic style of the band, were realized by the well-known amazing artist named Stefan “Heile” Heilemann (EPICA, LINDEMANN a.o.).“

Ich denke nicht, dass das Album sehr stark anders klingen wird als der Vorgänger. Aber das ist auch gut so, bei Herr Turilli bekommt man stehts was man erwartet, manchmal halt mit ein bisschen mehr Metal, manchmal ein bisschen mehr Orchester.
Cool finde ich, dass endlich mal ein Herr der Ringe Song dabei ist! Auf das habe ich bei Rhapsody schon lange gewartet.

Eigentlich traurig, dass die eigentlichen Rhapsody nach seinem Weggang so untergegangen sind. Deren letzte Platte kann ja wirklich rein gar nichts. Auf „Prometheus“ freue ich mich sehr, hoffentlich ist’s diesmal nicht so lasch wie das Debüt produziert.
