LONG DISTANCE CALLING werden am 29. April diesen Jahres ihr neues Album „Trips“ veröffentlichen. Für alle Fans hält die Band eine besondere Überraschung berei, etwa die Hälfte der Songs wurde von Sänger Petter Carlsen eingesungen.
Hier die Original-Meldung:
After releasing three highly successful albums, „Avoid The Light“, „Long Distance Calling“, „The Flood Inside“, via SuperBall Music, LONG DISTANCE CALLING have moved to InsideOut Music for future albums including their upcoming one, „TRIPS“, which will be out on April 29th, 2016.
After working on „TRIPS“ together with Vincent Sorg at Principal Studios the band is looking forward to breaking the news about the album as well as their new line-up: „Since he wanted to focus on his private life Martin ‚Marsen‘ Fischer has decided to step back from LONG DISTANCE CALLING, but he didn’t leave without recording most of the keyboards and sound effects on ‚TRIPS‘. In true LONG DISTANCE CALLING fashion we have another surprise up our sleeves and would like to introduce Petter Carlsen on vocals. About half of the new songs come with vocals and Petter did one hell of a job. We are really happy to have him on board for ‚TRIPS‘! In case his name rings a bell you are totally right: He already did vocals on the song ‚Welcome Change‘ on the album ‚The Flood Inside‘. We are sure that you’ll love the new stuff with him singing!“
Petter has the following to add about him doing the vocals on „TRIPS“: „I instantly became a fan of LONG DISTANCE CALLING the moment we met on tour with Anathema back in 2010 – both their music and their personalities. I am grateful that they made a long distance calling to Norway, asking me to join in on this album, and I am very proud to be a part of it. We had a great time at Principal Studios, it was a focused, relaxed and very creative atmosphere at the same time. It was a pleasure to add my color to these well-crafted songs.“

Highlights von metal-hammer.deSehr schön.
Ich finde bisher alle Alben super. Lediglich die letzte hatte schwächen. Die instrumentalen Songs waren wie gewohnt super, die mit Gesang nur teilweise.
Sehe ich ähnlich. Die Metulskydings-EP war auch knorke.

Wurstberge sind auch juristisch schwer einzuordnen.hmmm mal reinhören. die ersten 2 alben fand ich stark, die anderen beiden schon weniger.

Bin gespannt, aber die Vorfreude ist etwas gedämpft.

Last.fmIch bin auch mal vorsichtig gespannt.
Die Avoid the light ist nach wie vor in meinen Top3 PostRock Alben vertreten.
Die letzte war hauptsächlich wegen des Gesangs nicht so stark – aber auch die instrumentalen Sachen waren bis auf „Waves“ eher nicht so super … zumindest nicht so gut wie gewohnt.Das die Band gute Lieder mit Gesang schreiben kann sollte aufgrund der Kooperationen mit Renske und Bush bekannt sein.
Hoffen wir auf das Beste 🙂

Die Jungs haben wohl etwas zu viel Rammstein gehört in letzter Zeit…

Vor allem klingt es nicht nach Long Distance Calling. Stiländerungen stehe ich normalerweise offen gegenüber, aber das hat nichts mehr mit dem Post-Rock zu tun, für den ich Long Distance Calling abgefeiert habe. :/

Last.fmBis zur „The Flood Inside“ waren die so gut. Und jetzt komplett in die falsche Richtung abgedriftet. Das hier klingt jetzt nach Komplettabschiss.

Mhm das klingt schon merkwürdig, aber auch irgendwie anders gut. Man sollte bei sowas lieber das Gesamtalbum im Zusammenhang abwarten. Aber das ab der Mitte klingt eher nach Mercenary etc..
