Album title revealed, and some updates
Well hello there,It’s been a while since I posted any news related to the actual music and upcoming album here, so this is in effect far overdue; as is the album, but that’s another story entirely.
I have decided to reveal the title of the album to you here today, as part of what to be prepared for in terms of the lyrical subject and general theme. Without further ado, here it comes:
Forteljinger frå Finnefjerdingen
This translates into Tales from Finnefjerdingen, where Finnefjerdingen is the old name of my home village, Åsa. Now, for those of you who have been going into detail about my lyrical niche, you might wonder if I’m only using stories from my own small village this time around, which would be rather limiting and defeat the purpose of trying to spread a wide variety of stories altogether. The answer is of course no, there are several tales from Hole, Lommedalen, Sørkedalen and other areas in close vicinity of where I live. However, one might imagine, that when these stories were foretold back in the day, during evening in front of the fireplace when the whole family finally had time to gather after a long day of hard work, that there was made no difference as to exactly where they (the stories) where from and to whom they were told, as the people from these different areas most often worked alongside each other, moved around and brought their legends with them. In other words, they might all have been told in Finnefjerdingen, but originated from elsewhere. Get it? Real clever, I know. Haha.
There’s one more detail that will go with this and complete the package, but that part you will have to wait and find out for yourselves the first time you give the record a spin. 🙂
As far as other news goes, I’ve finally recorded all the guitar tracks for the album. I have found that breaking the different aspects of completing the record down into smaller and more manageable pieces is the way to go, and currently the drums for all the songs are being gone over one final time. After that I aim to get the last few lyrics done and arrange some vocals before I bring in the big guns (guest singers, these guys n‘ gals will be revealed later) to record their parts. Last in line comes my vocal performances, before the album will be mixed and mastered. I also need some artwork, but there are some „special“ plans for that and I’ll have to find a record label willing to undertake what would most likely seem like a major project before anything more can be said about that particular subject.
At least things are moving forward, albeit slowly as usual. 🙂
Yours sincerely,
