Acclaimed Norwegian rockers KVELERTAK have entered Godcity studios in Salem, Massachusetts with producer Kurt Ballou (CONVERGE) to begin recording their new album for an early 2013 release. The band states, „All [we] can say is this album is going to fuck the first album in the ass. Hard.“
KVELERTAK will return to the U.S. this fall to tour alongside CONVERGE and TORCHE. NAILS, COALESCE and WHIPS/CHAINS will perform on select shows as well. KVELERTAK says, „CONVERGE brought us out for our first-ever European tour two years ago, so it’s a great honor for us that they now are taking us out on our first proper U.S. tour! Not to mention the other bands; that lineup is ridiculous. Needless to say, we’re beyond excited!“
Featuring iconic artwork by John Dyer Baizley (BARONESS, KYLESA), KVELERTAK’s self-titled 2010 debut album — which has been certified gold in the band’s home country — has earned the band extensive worldwide acclaim, with Kerrang! going so far as to call the sextet „the best Norwegian band since A-HA.“ The album, which features vocals entirely in the band’s native language, recieved 9/10 ratings from Metal Hammer, Decibel and Rock Hard magazines and earned the group an invitation to perform a live session on BBC Radio 1. The band has recently played several esteemed European festivals, including Eurosonic, Sonisphere and Reading.
While the group has performed periodic American shows in the past — they did a short tour with SKELETONWITCH around the 2011 CMJ Festival and performed at SXSW earlier that year, for example — the CONVERGE tour is their most extensive American itinerary yet.

Musik Sammler | Last.fmRejrokNaja. Wenn wir nur die Landschaft und den Todesstern im Hintergrund hätten, wäre das ein Klasse Cover. Aber der Dirty Schwan ist dann doch ein wenig Overkill.
Mei AOTY 2013 steht damit wohl fest. Kann nur gut werden.
Live konnte man auch schon 2 neue Songs bewundern, die haben auch schon reingehaun.

Wobei ich den Erstling immernoch nicht habe (also physisch)…
Reicht da eigentlich die normale Version, oder ist das später veröffentlichte Ding so super, dass man dieses kaufen sollte?Ob die es schaffen so groß wie Volbeat zu weden? Scheinen einen ähnlichen Konsensfaktor zu haben…

Reicht da eigentlich die normale Version, oder ist das später veröffentlichte Ding so super, dass man dieses kaufen sollte?Ich hab das „später veröffentlichte Ding“ und finds eigentlich echt super. Sind halt zusätzlich Live- und Demoversionen, Booklet mit eigenem Baizley-Artwork zu jedem Song (kA ob das im normalen Booklet auch schon war), ner DVD mit Live-Performances und Studio-Report (der teilweise recht witzig ist ^^). Und halt ein kleines aber feines Poster vom kompletten Artwork. Ich kanns empfehlen, wenn man das Geld zu verfügung hat.
