Deathspell Omega – Fas – Ite, Maledicti, In Ignem Aeternum:

Dies Ater – Odium´s Spring:
Der Melodiefaktor ist hier verdammt hoch, ebenso die Keyboardanteile. Als Kontrast gibt es aber auch genügend aggressivere Parts zu hören. Das Werk ertönt somit recht dynamisch. Am stärksten finde ich die deutsprachsprachigen Lieder. Leider taugt die Produktion nicht viel. Andy Classens Standardklang, den er irgendwie jeder Band verpasst, kränkelt vor allem am schrecklichen Drumsound. (9/10)

Hellsaw – Phantasm:
Diese CD war bei einer Bestellung nur Ersatzartikel für eine andere. Anfangs konnte ich mit diesem Werk – ähnlich wie bei Spiritual Twilight – nicht so viel anfangen. Allerdings entfalten sich nach und nach die Lieder. Dies geschieht nicht unbedingt durch neue Ideen oder frischen Wind, sondern vielmehr dadurch, dass Hellsaw ihre recht traditionelle Schiene perfekt zelebrieren. Gelgentliche Akustikgitarren, „rockigere“ Elemente sorgen für genügend Abwechslung. Bemerkenswert ist hier die staubtrockene und hochwertige Produktion.
Ein gelungenes Album – Respekt, damit habe ich nicht gerechnet. (9/10)

The CNK – L’Hymne a la Joie:
Dies ist das ehemalige “Count Nosferatu Kommando”, für welches Schreihals Hrreidmar Anorexia Nervosa verlassen hat. Musikalisch bewegen sich The CNK im industrialangehauchten Metal; klingen dabei wie eine etwas weniger verrückte und mehr durchdachte (vllt. auch kalkulierte?) Variante des „Count Nosferatu Kommando“. Interessant wird es für mich dann, wenn The CNK Metal, Klassik und Elektronik zeitgleich kombinieren.

Shining – IV – The Eerie Cold:
Ich bin mir mittlerweile sicher, dass “The Eerie Cold” das Shining Meisterwerk überhaupt ist. Weder „Halmstad“ noch alle anderen Werke halten hier mit. „The Eerie Cold“ ist sicherlich nicht so sehr von „metalfremden“ Einflüssen überladen wie „Halmstad“, aber vor allem punktet das Werk in der verhältnismäßig „rockigen“ Gradlinigkeit in Kombination mit einer pechschwarzen Atmosphäre. (10/10)

Drautran – Throne Of The Depths:
… ist und bleibt ein Meisterwerk. Das stärkste Album 2007 aus deutschen Landen. (10/10)

Kamelot – The Ghost Opera:
Kamelots stärkstes Werk erfreut sich immer noch großer Beliebtheit. (8/10)
