"Wäre Hertha BSC ein Yoga-Verein, hier wär alles blau-weiß." "Ask not what you can do for your country. Ask what's for lunch." Den Arm aus dem Fenster, das Radio voll an, draußen hängt ein Fuchsschwanz dran...We have just read „Of Mice And Men“ by John Steinbeck. Lots of slang words and a very tragic ending, but I liked the book, anyway.
After having read the text, we watched the film and made some scene analysis. 1 minute film – then writing down what happens, the music and the camera angles, blah blah – 1 minute film – and so on. Very annoying.--
"Als das Büblein dem Fröschlein den Kopf abbiss, da ward ihm so wohlig zumute. Denn Böses zu tun macht doch ganz gewiss mehr Spaß als das blöde Gute.[/I]" [/SIZE]It’s a great film though.
And of course Steinbeck is probably one of the most important American writers of those days.

Very annoying.I had to read this book too. Well I didn’t really remember IF i read it or if i just read the summaries. But we haven’t watched the film. Well the last book we had to „read“ was „Romeao&Juliet“ and the language is quiet annoying. But all in all it’s MUCH better than the movies. But we had to analyze them too and it was – as i thought – very easy. To guess why the director chose this camera angle,…and so on.

„we did just the same..“ or if it was not mandatory „we had to do just the…“ would be more appropriate. But don´t mind me in your discussion, I find myself to an increasing degree unable to enjoy novelistic literature of newer origin.

This Thread is for the cat, i guess…
whyß
I think it’s a good idea.
It should be the same as the Sofa in english.
And what would be the use of a second Sofa, a Sofa in a foreign language?
look at Motörschädels Post.
I think its a good(and funny)way to improve our EnglishYou could as well just sign up in an English Message Board…
I don’t really think we can allow this sofa to remain open. Because why not have a Sofa in French/Spanish/Chinese etc.? How can we justify to have a Sofa in English and not allowing anyone else to open one in another foreign language?
And of course you can talk in the Main Sofa in any Language you want. So there really is no need for an additional Sofa in English.
but we also have a mundart-thread^^
do we? i didn´t know that! where is it?--

It seems strange how often the judgement by how something „sounds“ results in the right expression.
