Ich für meinen Teil habe nie behauptet, sie sei schlecht, aber man merkt halt doch recht deutlich, dass es noch ein Debüt ist, bei dem die Richtung durchaus stimmt, es aber noch etwas an Feinabstimmung mangelt. Mit dem Gesang kann ich mich über weite Strecken dann anfreunden 🙂

ist leider noch nicht eingetroffen. Dein Beitrag stimmt mich allerdings optimistisch. Ich erwarte von dem Album nicht, dass es den ganzen Sektor revolutioniert. Sobald ich die Platte bekommen und mir ne Meinung gebildet habe, meld ich mich wieder!

Exterminate!jaaa, sehr schön. Cruachan sind wieder richtig bissig. Hatte das zwischenzeitlich vermisst bei der Band.

Árstíðir lífsins / Helrunar Split Digipack 2CD / Gatefold LP
On 05.07.2013, the long awaited split CD/LP of Árstíðir lífsins and Helrunar will be released via Ván Records and Prophecy as Digipack 2CD (ltd. 1000) and Gatefold LP (ltd. 500). „Fragments – A Mythological Excavation“ is a joint effort by Helrunar and Árstíðir lífsins with one respective song of epic length by each band, recorded exclusively for their collaboration. As the title of this release (overall duration: 35 minutes) already suggests, both groups delve into mythological topics: Helrunar’s „Wein für Polyphem“ draws from Homer’s „Odyssey“ while Árstíðir lífsins‘ „Vindsvalarmál“ taps into the sources of Old Norse mythology. What in the end unifies both songs musically as well as lyrically are their monumental character and apocalyptic undertone which is manifest to the elemental force of those mythological ideas – a power reanimated by „Fragments“.

Ich meineseits finde [COLOR=#ff0000]Black Metal[/COLOR] ziemlich krass und düster , langweilt aber meinermeinug auf dauer. Die erste von Behemooth ist zu empfehlen.
Neues Helrunar-Material ist natürlich immer ein Grund zum Feiern. Bei Árstíðir lífsins fand ich beide Alben zu 50% WOW und zu 50% meh, sehr schade :/

ja, ich find auch, dass auf Albumlänge einiges an Potenzial verschenkt wurde, weil man es zu gut gemeint hat. Das schmälert die Qualität allerdings nicht – gerade bei so Einzelsongs bin ich zuversichtlich.

die neue Fir Bolg hab ich nun seit ein paar Tagen. Klingt teilweise härter als erwartet und auf die Gesamtspielzeit noch etwas undifferenziert, aber prinzipiell ist das schon nicht übel. Kein Kitsch, keine ausgeleierten Melodien, kein Keyboard… Das Cover verspricht vielleicht etwas mehr Natur als am Ende drinsteckt, aber ich würde die Band musikalisch trotzdem in die Pagan Black Metal-Ecke einordnen.
Das Cover ist ja auch irgedwie Inbegriff der Hässlichkeit..

The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown ...Die Fir Bolg hab ich mir gestern auch zugelegt. Bin aber leider noch nicht zum anhören gekommen.
Habe von ihm aber auch die DEMO EP, welche mir sehr gut gefällt. Kann diese jedem, der in Sachen Pagan Metal auch mal über den Tellerrand schauen will,(geboten wird Celtic Pagan Metal) ans Herz legen. Kitsch wird nicht wirklich geboten, die EP ist eher recht roh geraten.
