The Profane Existence Collective (referred to occasionally as ‚P.E.‘) is a Minneapolis-based[1] anarcho-punk collective. Established in 1989,[2] the collective publishes a nationally-known[3] zine (also called Profane Existence), as well as releasing and distributing anarcho-punk, crust, and grindcore music,[4] and printing and publishing pamphlets and literature.[5][6] Stacy Thompson describes the collective as “the largest, longest-lasting, and most influential collective in Anarcho-Punk so far.”[7] The collective folded in 1998,[8][9] although its distribution arm, then called Blackened Distribution, continued operating.[10] It restarted in 2000.[2] „Making punk a threat again“ is the group’s slogan.
Moshpit Tragedy Records is a Canadian independent record label founded in Windsor, Ontario in 2006. The label specializes releases punk, metal and some of their subgenres (crust, sludge, etc.). In 2007, they became the first record label to abandon physical releases in favour of a fully „sliding-scale“ or „pay what you want“ download model.

CrimethInc, das auch unter den Bezeichnungen CWC („CrimethInc. ex-Workers‘ Collective“) und Crimethinc auftritt, ist ein dezentral organisiertes loses Kollektiv mit Wurzeln in der Hardcore- und Anarcho-Punk-Szene Nordamerikas sowie Aktivistengruppen um die Earth First!-, Reclaim the Streets-, Food not bombs– und Critical Mass-Bewegungen.[1]. Es ist stark von Anarchismus, Situationismus und Poststrukturalismus beeinflusst. CrimethInc. ist sowohl antikapitalistisch als auch antiautoritär und versucht in Aktionen und Publikationen Kultur, Politik, das Leben, Arbeit und emanzipatorische Wege kritisch zu hinterfragen.

„A surge of popular interest in anarchism occurred during the 1970s in the UK following the birth of punk rock. However, while the early punk scene appropriated anarchist imagery mainly for its shock value, the band Crass expounded serious anarchist and pacifist ideas, and went on to become a notable influence in the burgeoning Anarcho-Punk movement.
Many anarcho-punks are supporters of issues such as animal rights, feminism, the anti-war movement, the antiglobalization movement, and many other social movements.
The story of the movement is told by some of the most influential performers, including; Penny Rimbaud (Crass), Colin Jerwood (Conflict), Colin & Kevin (Flux of Pink Indians) Dick Lucas (Subhumans), Zillah Minx (Rubella Ballet), Gary Buckley (Dirt), Steve Lake (Zounds), Mark Wallis (Liberty), Gee Vaucher (Crass), Dave Hyndman (Hit Parade), Rob Millar (Amebix), Rodney Relax (Alternative), Stringy & Snout (Erratics) and Gerard Evans (Flowers in the Dustbin).
Es geht auch anders. Kommerz, Kapital und Konsum sind keine unumstößliche Notwendigkeit unserer Gegenwart. Dass man mit dieser Meinung nicht allein sein muss, zeigen Francesca Araiza Andrade und Julia Ostertag in ihrem wütenden und mitreißenden Dokumentarfilm „Noise and Resistance“.
Was manchen nur als Lärm und Störung gilt, machen sie als vitale Artikulation des Widerstands deutlich: Punk ist hier weder Modeerscheinung noch verstaubtes Relikt der Vergangenheit, sondern der lebendige Ausdruck eines Lebensgefühls.
Die beiden Regisseurinnen begeben sich mitten hinein in eine höchstlebendige und pulsierende, eine aufbegehrende und selbstbewusste Szene. Ob Hausbesetzer aus Barcelona, Antifaschisten in Moskau, niederländische Gewerkschaftskämpfer, die Aktivisten des englischen CRASS – Kollektivs, queere Wagenplatzbewohner aus Berlin oder Punkgirl-Bands aus Schweden – immer ist die Musik eine kollektive Selbstbehauptung, ein vertontes Nein, dessen Losung „Do it yourself!“ zur lautstarken Internationale des 21. Jahrhundert geworden ist.
„Noise and Resistance“ ist eine inspirierende Reise durch Europas Utopia der Gegenwart, an subkulturelle Sehnsuchtsorte, wo aus Unabhängigkeit Gemeinschaft entsteht – und der beste Punk-Sound, den man seit Jahren gehört hat.
