MEGADETH’s new album, „Endgame“, sold 45,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 9 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD shifted 8,200 units in Canada to land at No. 4 on the country’s official chart.
MEGADETH’s previous CD, „United Abominations“, opened with around 54,000 copies in the U.S. to debut at No. 8. This was more than the 46,000 first-week tally registered by its predecessor, „The System Has Failed“ (which landed at No. 18 on The Billboard 200 chart), and was a bit less than the 61,000 opening number of 2001’s „The World Needs A Hero“ (No. 16).

Original KISS guitarist Ace Frehley’s new solo album, „Anomaly“, sold around 17,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 27 on The Billboard 200 chart.
„Retribution“, the new album from Massachusetts metallers SHADOWS FALL, sold around 13,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 35 on The Billboard 200 chart. SHADOWS FALL’s previous CD, „Threads of Life“ (which was released through Atlantic Records), opened with just over 24,000 copies to land at No. 46. This was substantially less than the 39,000 first-week tally registered by its predecessor, „The War Within“ (Century Media), which came out in September 2004 and debuted at No. 20 on The Billboard 200 chart. SHADOWS FALL’s „Fallout from the War“ CD — featuring songs that didn’t make it onto „The War Within“, B-sides from Japan releases and a few cover songs — premiered with just under 13,000 copies in June 2006 to enter the chart at No. 83.
„Deflorate“, the new album from Michigan’s THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, sold around 12,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 43 on The Billboard 200 chart.
„New Junk Aesthetic“, the new album from Buffalo’s hardest-rocking band EVERY TIME I DIE, sold around 12,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 46 on The Billboard 200 chart.
„In The Black“, the new album from the Canadian all-girl metal band KITTIE, sold around 3,400 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 132 on The Billboard 200 chart.
KITTIE’s previous CD, „Funeral for Yesterday“, opened with 9,000 units back in February 2007 to land at No. 101.
„Descend Into Depravity“, the new album from Baltimore death metallers DYING FETUS, sold around 2,700 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 166 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD landed at position No. 4 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart.
„Lividity“, the new album from Buffalo, New York’s IT DIES TODAY, sold around 1,800 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The CD landed at position No. 10 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart.
ANVIL’s re-release of the group’s latest album, „This is Thirteen“, sold around 1,400 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. (Note: Internet/digital sales **ARE** included in the SoundScan totals.) The CD landed at position No. 19 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart.
„The Scars Between Us“, the new album from San Francisco Bay Area metal veterans SKINLAB, sold around 380 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
