„Mechanize“, the new album from cyber metallers FEAR FACTORY, sold 10,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 72 on The Billboard 200 chart. The band’s previous CD, „Transgression“, opened with 19,000 units back in August 2005 to land at No. 45. This was substantially less than the first-week number registered by its predecessor, „Archetype“, which sold 32,000 copies back in April 2004 to enter the Billboard chart at No. 30.
„Mechanize“ has registered the following first-week chart positions so far:

„Screamworks: Love In Theory And Practice“, the new album from Finnish „love“ metallers HIM, sold 26,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 25 on The Billboard 200 chart.
HIM’s previous CD, „Venus Doom“, opened with 38,000 units back in September 2007 to land at No. 12.
„Ironbound“, the new album from veteran New Jersey thrashers OVERKILL, sold 4,100 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 192 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD landed at No. 4 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
OVERKILL’s previous album, „Immortalis“, opened with 2,800 units back in October 2007 .
OVERKILL’s top-selling album of the SoundScan era (1991-) is „Horrorscope“, which has shifted more than 120,000 copies in the U.S. since its 1991 release (there is no SoundScan data available for LPs sold prior to 1991).
„Starve For The Devil“, the new album from Virginia-based technical melodic death metallers ARSIS, sold 1,800 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at No. 13 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart.
„The Never Ending Way Of ORwarriOR“, the fourth album from Israeli progressive folk metal masters ORPHANED LAND, sold around 600 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at No. 80 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart.
