If you aren’t a native speaker and you can really manage watching an English movie without subtitles for the first time and understand all of the langauge and the story, then you are really a natural.
A lot of dialogues, especially in American productions are held in a very strange slang, so that if you can’t follow them, you can’t really follow the story as well.
IMO it makes sense, to not only watch the movie once, but to check it out several times and fist follow the dialogues through subtitles, and finally, after you have understood the matter (or at least thought so^^) try to catch on to the flick without any help.
