Text number one:
Food additives are necessary to protect consumers from harmful bacteria and to extend the shelf-life of a product. They also have a cosmetic effect, like adding colour and flavour. Productions are much easier with food additives and they may improve the quality. For example, bread is often enriched by vitamins.
These days you can’t be sure about what you eat, when you eat something out of deep-freezers oder tins. For sure, there are labels on the products, but many of them will be meaningless to you.
