A Silver Mt. Zion – Born into trouble as the sparks fly upward
Ich habe hier schonmal etwas zu dieser Platte geschrieben, tue dies aber noch ein zweites mal weil ich festgestellt habe, welche Bedeutung die Platte mittlerweile für mich (wieder) hat.
Das zweite Album der Band um Efrim (lassen wir godspeed jetzt einfach mal hier raus) ist wie auch das debut (he has left us…) größtenteils instrumental. Nicht das ich etwas gegen spätere Geniestreiche wie horses in the sky habe. Aber A Silver mt. zion, Thee Silver Mountain Reveries oder auch Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra (^^) sind für mich einfach dann am stärksten wenn die so spielen wie hier.
Selten habe ich so ein trauriges und schönes Album hören dürfen wie hier. Die ersten 3 Songs treiben einem das wasser in die Augen und nehmen mich jedes mal komplett ein.
„Could´ve Moved Mountains“ bewgt wirklich! und „the triumph of our tired eyes“ ist so authentisch das es weh tut. Letzteres ist dann „Take these Hands and throw them in the river“, man leidet und man geniesst. Selten lag das so nah aneinander.
