Puh. Ich habe es schon geahnt. Da liste ich ne Platte auf, die ich alle 3 Jahre einmal höre und dann… 😉
Ok, ich gebe mein Bestes.
Es ist, wie ich finde, sehr schwer Warrior Soul in eine bestimmte Ecke zu packen. Musikalisch bewegt sich die Band irgendwo zwischen Grunge, Punk und Metal. Ein wichtiger Bestandteil sind die doch sehr sozial- und systhemkritischen Texte. Dabei werden manche Songs/Lyrics passenderweise mal trostlos, mal aggressiv und mal in sarkastischem Ton (The Wasteland) vorgetragen. Geht das überhaupt? Jop! 😉 Textlich wird kein Blatt vor den Mund genommen. Anarchie pur!
Man darf hier keine musikalische „Grosstat“ in Form irgendwelcher Progressive-Bands erwarten (damit meine ich Gitarrengefrickel etc.), obwohl dieses Album durchaus auch seine progressiven Elemente vorzuweisen hat.
Doch grossartige Experimente haben Warrior Soul überhaupt nicht nötig. Es gibt eine Message und die wird an den Mann gebracht. Dazu braucht es gerade mal ne Gitarre, Bass, Schlagzeug und einen Cory Klarke am Mikro, der die Stimmung der Songs perfekt in die jeweiligen Stücke integriert. Überhaupt praktizieren WS sehr emotionale Musik.
Das Album ist definitiv nicht schlecht. Allerdings ist es nichts, was ich mir täglich reinziehen kann.
Was mir jedoch an dieser Scheibe besonders gefällt, ist die Anarchie, die sie versprüht. Wer diese Platte kennt, weiss, wovon ich spreche^^
Leider habe/kenne ich kein weiteres WS-Album. Daher kann ich keine Vergleiche anstellen.
