Riding through the city of Ankh-Morpork
On a white horse, whose name is… Binky.
Greeting Captain Carrot as he goes by
And Constable Visit, walking by his side.
Dark figures creeping in the Shades
Here’s always a soul or two to take,
And down towards the Brass Bridge, leaving Morpork.
Through the river’s dreadful stench
I’m coming to the other bank,
And pass the brass Hippos guarding the town.

Where it’s never night, even when the day is gone.
In the shadow of Unseen University
Magic’s leaking everywhere you look.
The Librarian comes by, saying „ook“
And speeds down the street to the Mended Drum.
Cut-Throats and thieves crowd the pub
The landlord sells some dwarfs a rat,
And the Trolls are getting ready for a fight.
Soon some drinkers pass away,
Their souls I quickly take away,
and leave the pub again through the wall.

The bells chime midnight, each one on its own.

And so past Pseudopolis Yard I’m heading home.
