Such a SurgedrummerHier sind die Beweise zum thema LEGENDE ! ! !

Such A Surge are a true legend in their home country of Germany. Their albums helped revolutionize the crossover genre and introduced some of the most intense sounds Western Europe has ever encountered. Metal Mind Productions presents the exclusive reissue of “Alpha” – the group’s last and final LP – which stands as a monument to the legacy of this extraordinary ensemble…

The history of Such a Surge started all the way back in 1993 with the release of the band’s debut EP “Gegen den Strom” (“Against The Stream”) on Rap Nation Records. The debut material was a bold combination of rap, hardcore and metal, and gained immediate attention from the major record label Epic Records. With their help, Such a Surge released their first LP – “Under Pressure” – in 1995. The following years brought four more albums – “Agoraphobic Notes” (1995), “Was Besonderes” (1998), “Der Surge Effekt” (2000) and “Rotlicht” (2003) – as well as two EPs: “Tropfen” (1999) and “Mission Erfüllt” (2005), which marked the end of the band’s cooperation with Epic. Such a Surge soon found their new home in the acclaimed German metal label – Nuclear Blast. In 2005, they released their sixth LP entitled “Alpha”… While the band tried to flirt with the indie rock genre on their last album “Rotlicht”, “Alpha” was a straight-forward return to their heavier and more uncompromising past. Still adopting a lot of rap and nu-metal elements, the group showcased a lot of variety in their songwriting. From some really heavy tunes like “Blender” and “Radiosong”, through mid-paced, catchier songs such as “Mein Tag” or “Mission Erfüllt” (already known from the 2005 EP), finishing at a genuinely well-written semi-ballad – “Alles Was Mir Fehlt”, the album proved to be a true roller-coaster of styles. Perhaps the most intriguing tracks on “Alpha” were “Was Jetzt”, “OK” and “Zu Allem Bereit”, which all enriched the powerful hardcore sound with slight stoner-rock inspirations, courtesy of the band’s new guitarist Lutz. Unfortunately, not long after “Alpha” was released, members of Such a Surge decided to part ways and focus on their individual careers
