Homeland Security claimed that violent porn financially supported terrorism (without any evidence to support this theory), and they sent letters to banks warning them that they may be supporting terrorism by processing credit card payments from insex.com. Under the Patriot Act, if Homeland Security believes a bank is facilitating terrorism (by passing money through the bank), they can go and inspect the bank records. Instead of taking that chance, the banks refused to process credit cards used at insex.com. This ultimately shut down the site because nobody could pay to use it.“
