Da über FB schon verlautet wurde, dass für Monster AG 2 auch Songs beigesteuert werden, sollte man das mit dem Konzeptalbum nochmals hinterfragen 😉
Könnte natürlich auch sein, dass das nur Ausnahmesongs sind, die nicht mit dem Album in Verbindung stehen.

Well, it looks like we won’t be waiting too long. The band just posted the following status update:
The status refers to Monsters University, the prequel to the Disney/Pixar movie Monsters Inc. scheduled for release on June 21, 2013. The soundtrack would come out around that time as well, so that means we’ll be hearing new Mastodon music this summer. How cool is that?
This won’t be the band’s first foray into animated features. The band makes a legendary appearance in the Aqua Teen Hunger Force movie, which can be seen here.--

Mann kann Blood Mountain und Crack the Sky ne Menge andichten (z.B: nen total geiles Konzept :D).
Aber „zu“ poppig? Und dann Leviathan anführen? Im Gegensatz zur Remission ist die dann nämlich auch deutlich weicher…

klingt eig. ziemlich gut.
aber
spannend ist anders.
wo ist die pure atmosphäre eines „blood mountain“? oder einfach mal wieder total frickeliges zeug wie capillarian crest?Hm ja an sich nicht schlecht aber iwie könnte das auch ein softerer Song von Black Tusk oder Ähnlichen sein.

Er bringt für Mastodon sicher keine neue Elemente hinzu, aber klingt immer noch 100% nach Mastodon. Und so einen herrlich poppigen Cheesy-Refrain muss man sich erstmal trauen.

Mir auch, klingt richtig gut. Album wird bestimmt wieder klasse, auf die Band ist Verlass.
