Recently we had our first guest musician in the studio – a vocalist from famous Ukrainian band [b][i]I Miss My Death that will share a stage with Shape of Despair and Mourning Beloveth at international Ukraininan based festival Doom Over Kiev VI.
Highlights von metal-hammer.deSo, we’ve successfully passed another milestone with recording of our next album. Just like „A Key to Panngrieb“ it will also contain cello! But in addition to that we’ve also decided to use stringed bass (contrabass), which makes it three bass instruments on the future album counting a more common bass guitar as well. Heavy stuff.

The honor to close our last recording session in the studio had been given to saxophone, which will be present in most of the songs. Anyway, we still need our album to be mixed and mastered, so stay tuned!
Today we are happy to show you the album art for our next album – „Thanathonaut“. This time we have collaborated with Christophe Dessaigne, a French photographer and digital artist (http://www.midnight-artwork.com/).
His illustrations have been used for covers of many books including works of Stephen King, Agatha Christie, Margaret Atwood and other famous writers.
The face of the new Narrow House album (literally) will become an art called „The Miracle and the Sleeper“, which carries the same mystic spirit as „A Key to Panngrieb“. Get ready for a new journey to your inner world – it won’t leave you indifferent.
Actually, today we are celebrating 4 years of Narrow House activity, and we feel like giving you people something as a present. So, we are proud to present the first issue of Thanathonaut Recording Chronicles, which will give you some interesting details on how we approached the recording process of our new album.

It’s been exactly a year since our debut funeral doom album has been released. And as you may already know the followup is going to be much more diversified in terms of its music genre. But there are some things that will stay intact and continue the legacy of „A Key to Panngrieb“ after all.

So, it’s been a while since the last studio diary was published, but no worries, as today another „Thanathonaut Recording Chronicles“ chapter is up! This time we will give you some more details about special instruments we have used to record Thanathonaut, vocals, and even beautiful guest musicians. Be ready for some other surprises too.
2013 will end soon, and so is our epic studio diary. We have already showed you how we handled guitars, strings, saxophone and vocals. The fifth installment of „Thanathonaut Recording Chronicles“ will finalize our recording process with drums and keys, giving you a few more audio samples from the upcoming album.Watch this and get ready for something completely special!
Some good news in these dark times: to deliver you Thanathonaut we have signed a contract with Solitude Productions, who remain one of the few labels which still appreciate the music itself. It’s quite possible that we will be able to get the album in your hands even earlier than we have expected, so stay tuned!
