Over Your Threshold (Progressive Death Metal)

OVER YOUR THRESHOLD wird 2006 von Lukas Spielberger und Leonhard Pill in München (Deutschland) gegründet. Ein Jahr später tritt der Drummer Julian Matejka in die Reihe der zwei Gitarristen und die Band wird um ein essenzielles Mitglied reicher. Mit Beitritt des äußerst talentierten Bassisten Christian Siegmund wird das Line-up 2009 vervollständigt und optimiert.
OVER YOUR THRESHOLD sind seit 2007 auf der Bühne zu sehen. Nach zahlreichen Gigs (u.a. in DE, AT, CZ) mit renommierten Deathmetal Bands wie Obscura, Deadborn und Commongrave, macht sich die Band einen Namen in der lokalen Metalszene. OVER YOUR THRESHOLD sind für ein “tightes Zusammenspiel“ und ihre “ausdrucksvolle Live- Perfomance“ bekannt.
Im Jahr 2008 veröffentlichen die Musiker ihre erste EP “PROGRESS IN DISBELIEF“ in Eigenregie. Mit stetig steigendem Anspruch an sich selbst, harter Eigenkritik und der Zeit wird ihre Idee von Deathmetal reifer und komplexer. Ihre Wurzeln liegen wohl klar im Death-/ Thrash der 80er Jahre. Ihre Ambitionen bestehen in einer Verbindung des Deathmetal- Sounds der 80er mit moderneren Prog-, Thrash- und Fusion- Elementen.
OVER YOUR THRESHOLD’s erstes vollwertiges Album “FACTICITY“ wurde von V. Santura (u.a. Tryptykon, Dark Fortress) in den Woodshed Studios 2011 produziert. Bis jetzt ist es noch nicht veröffentlicht, da die Band auf der Suche nach einem geeigneten Label ist. Der Sound von FACTICITY ist nicht nur brutal sondern auch technisch und anspruchsvoll; es enthält energiegeladenes Deathmetal Riffing, melodische Akustikgitarren, Thrashmetal- Parts, einen geschmeidigen Fretless- Bass und eine kleine Note Fusion ’n’ Jazz. Auf dem Debut sind außerdem die Gäste Steffen Kummerer (Obscura, Thulcandra) und Jonas Fischer (Hokum) vertreten.English:
Emerging from Munich (Germany) OVER YOUR THRESHOLD was set up by Lukas Spielberger and Leonhard Pill in 2006. In the year of 2007 the drummer Julian Matejka joined the two guitarists and the band got an another essential musician. With the joining of the talented bassist Christian Siegmund in 2009 the line-up was completed.
OVER YOUR THRESHOLD started playing live in 2007. After numerous gigs (Germany, Austria, Czech Republic) with renowned Death- Metal bands like Obscura, Deadborn and Commongrave, the band makes a name for itself in the local metal-scene. OVER YOUR THRESHOLD is known for its ‘tight playing’ and ‘expressive performance’ on shows.
The first record PROGRESS IN DISBELIEF (EP) was released in 2008. Over the years the band’s conception of Deathmetal gained ground and its actual sound is affected by a great diversity of musical elements. Influenced by different Deathmetal bands (reaching from the 80’ies up to now) OYT’s music combines progressive Death- Metal with a bit of Thrash and some fusion components.
OVER YOUR THRESHOLD’s full-fledged album FACTICITY was produced, mixed and mastered by V. Santura (Tryptykon, Dark Fortress) at Woodshed Studios in 2011. But it’s not released yet. The sound of FACTICITY is not only more blasting but also more technical, interspersed with energetic Death-Metal riffing as well as melodic acoustic guitars, a trifle Thrash-Metal, jazzy harmonics and a smooth fretless bass. The band’s debut is enriched by the guest appearances of Steffen Kummerer (Obscura, Thulcandra) and Jonas Fischer (Hokum).

By this time OVER YOUR THRESHOLD finished the recording of the new album ‘FACTICITY’! It was recorded in the Woodshed Studios with the great support of V. Santura (producer of OBSCURA’s ‘Cosmogenesis’ and ‘Omnivium’). FACTICITY will be released this summer/ autumn and currently the band is seeking for a label. The new sound is not only more blasting but also more technical, interspersed with energetic Death-Metal riffing as well as melodic acoustic guitars. The band’s debut will be enriched by brute blast-beats, some Thrash-Metal, jazzy harmonics and a smooth fretless bass. The album’s artwork is in progress and some audio samples of FACTICITY can be heard on myspace very soon!
Additionally OVER YOUR THRESHOLD proudly presents the guest appearance of Steffen Kummerer (OBSCURA) and Jonas ‘JoeC’ Fischer (HOKUM) on FACITICTY!
