immortalsoulAlter oder neuer Kram? Wow, hätte ich nicht gedacht, dass es noch jemanden außer mir gibt, der die (immer noch) hört 😆 Das alte Zeug mag ich teilweise immer noch echt gerne! Macht schon irgendwie Laune… Mit dem letzten Album konnte ich allerdings nix mehr anfangen.

Hab die „Does This Look Infected“ gehört, imho die einzige brauchbare von denen und irgendwie ist selbst darauf höchstens jedes 2. Lied wirklich gut. Keine Ahnung, wieso ich sie dann trotzdem so oft gehört hab, lief wohl einfach im Hintergrund…

Diese Woche ganz im Sinne des Soundchecks:

1. Korpiklaani
Groß beschäftigt hab ich mich mit der Vergangenheit des finnischen Sextetts nie. Überzeugen können sie mich mit ihrer flotten, verspielten Mixtur aus Folk und Metal auf ihrem neusten Album trotzdem. Und wie!

2. Ill Nino
Ich bin positiv überrascht – die neuste Platte des lateinamerikanischen Sechsers klingt gewohnt eigenständig, mitreißend und emotional, ganz ohne Schnulz und Kitsch letzterer Longplayer. Ill Nino erfinden sich dabei vielleicht nicht selbst neu – beweisen aber, dass sie doch einen gewissen Marktwert besitzen. Und der Meinung war ich seit ihrem Debüt nicht mehr!

3. Neaera
Was soll man sagen? Neaera schaffen es einfach immer wieder, mich in ihren Bann zu ziehen. Der Band provezeie ich eine ganz große Zukunft!

4. Underoath
Underoath haben mich echt überrascht – denn statt Kajal gibts Handfeste musikalische Qualität, die gewisse Gefühlslagen perfekt unterstreicht.

5. Aiden
Ähnlich wie Underoath, passt diese Band wie die Faust aufs Auge zu meinen Gefühlslagen derzeit 😆

6. Gorefest
Langsam kommen sie wieder zurück 😆
Aber Alben wie Chapter 13 oder False müssen einfach immer wieder sein!

6. Dismember
Wow! Ihre neue Platte knüppelt ganz schön aus allen Rohren. Mitunter das beste, was diesen Monat erscheint.

8. The Ocean
Precambrian ist einfach ein Meisterwerk geworden, was sich so langsam bei mir entfaltet. Vor allem der zweite Teil weiß durch seine melancholische Ader zu überzeugen!

9. Caliban
Manchmal muss es einfach Caliban sein! 😆 Irgendwie hat mich The Awakening wieder gepackt, nachdem die Platte ja die letzten Wochen eher im Regel verstaubte.

10. A Perfect Circle
„Thirteenth Step“ ist wohl ihr Masterpiece ihres noch jungen Schaffens – und hat mich in ihren Bann gezogen. Beide Daumen hoch!

11. Meshuggah
Was für ein Opener! Meshuggah machen erneut ihren Namen alle Ehre und knüppeln sich durch intelligente, atmosphärische Soundgefilde – verlieren aber ihren Reiz bereits nach einigen Songs. Denn bei den immer selben Riffs und der immer selben Tonlage von Frontröhre Kidman vergehen einen (zu) schnell Lust und Aufmerksamkeit.

11. Sinew
Progressiver Emocore, so etwas gibt’s? Und das klappt? Ja, und wie! „The Beauty Of Contrast“ ist dabei stets gut durchdacht, mitreißend und emotional. Unbedingt reinhören!

13. Opeth
Wann bringt der Postbote endlich die Promo der neuen Opeth? Ich kanns kaum noch abwarten! Solange wird aber noch alten Klassikern gehuldigt.

14. Heaven Shall Burn
Iconoclast muss zugunsten der Promos erstmal warten, zwischendurch laufen aber immer mal wieder Antigone und Deaf To Our Prayers!

14. Burning Skies
Roh, bissig, ungezügelt – nennt sie, wie ihr wollt. Aber Burning Skies können was, und ihr neuster Ausguss „Green Flith Abose Corruption“ ist das optimale Beweisstück dafür!

14. Arsonists Get All The Girls
Diese Woche kaum Zeit für die Chaoten Formation, dass wird aber demnächst tunlichst nachgeholt, ist „Game Of Life“ doch ein richtiges Brett geworden!!
