You can groom yourself by taking care of yourself, make yourself look neat/pretty/tidy.
You can groom a pet (usually a dog) with the same meaning as above.
You can groom a person by preparing them for something big. For example, you can groom a friend to be prepared for a job interview. Here it’s not grooming in the sense of looking good but a general preparation.
You can groom an heir to take over your tasks/work, etc, again in the sense of general preparation.
You can groom a garden or outside item for the winter (wetterfest machen)
You can groom a woman in the sense of trying to flirt with her/get her into bed, etc.
In a more negative way, you can groom a person (usually a child) in an indecent sexual manner.It really depends on the context. Do you have a context?

No, it was in a Jimmy Carr joke and wasn’t quite sure if I understood it correctly.
jimmy carr is the best. I love his stand up dvds and I love his tv shows (like 8 out of 10 cats, or the big fat quiz of the year).
