Absolutes agree! Mittlerweile haben die sich echt zu meiner Lieblingsband gemausert. Panopticon auch äußerst günstig auf 2LP bekommen 😈
Die hab ich dann auch zu genüge durchgeballert, mich an die „In the Absence of Truth“ gewagt und seit kurzem rotiert die „Weavering Radiant“. Letztere muss ich wohl noch n bisschen öfters hören, hab da noch keine konkrete Meinung zu (Naja tendiert schon zu genial). Zur Panopticon hab ich auch schonmal hier was geschrieben… Ist halt ne göttliche Platte einer ebenso göttlichen Band.
„In the Absence…“ hat im Vergleich zur Panopticon eine positivere Grundstimmung würde ich meinen. Der Opener „Wrists of Kings“ zeigt einem dann gleich welch epische Richtung die nächste Stunde (ca.) einschlagen wird. Song Nummero drei „Dulcinea“ hat sich mittlerweile auch zu meinem Lieblings-Isis-Song gemausert. Ach das ganze Album ist einfach durchweg genial, mit diesen emotionalen Ausbrüchen und dieser dichten Atmosphäre (Not in Rivers, But in Drops; 1000 Shards & Holy Tears zum Beispiel). Ganz nach dem Motto „Nothing is true, everything is permitted“!--

Trippig, bluesig, heavy, fließend, psychedelisch. Ein tolles Album, um – frei nach Juliane Werding – in einem Meer aus Licht und Farben dahinzuschweben (oder selbiges im Halbschlaf morgens im Bus zu evozieren…). Live auch eine absolute Offenbarung, würde ich gerne nochmal sehen. Leider empfinde ich den Nachfolger als viel steifer und straighter, da will meistens nicht die rechte Stimmung aufkommen.Tiamat – Sumerian Cry
Death from the Cavern – düster, böse, mystisch, ekelhaft. Als würde man irgendwelche schwarzmagischen Beschwörungen aus finsteren Höhlen hören, sich aber nicht trauen, zu schauen, was da vor sich geht.Morbid Angel – Altars of Madness
Verdreht, morbide und böse, der Titel „Altars of Madness“ spricht für ich selbst. Dieser psychotisch-mahlende Sound ist einfach grandios. Mittlerweile eines meiner absoluten Lieblingsalben, zumindest was Death Metal angeht.The Doors – Morrison Hotel
Eigentlich könnte hier jedes andere Album genausogut stehen. Die Atmosphäre der Songs ist entweder schwermütig und traurig oder verträumt-surreal oder auf seltsame Weise beschwingt – meistens gleich mehreres auf einmal. Absolut einzigartig.NightLcDragonEloy – Ocean (8,8/10)
